Be Careful With AHOY cookies!

Kraft Canada has informed eat-halal.com that animal
rennet is used during the production of the whey in Peanut Butter Chips
Ahoy
cookies. This bad news overshadows the good news: only vegetable
shortening is used in the cookies, which is of note, since the Ahoy family
still
has an on-going relationship with lard. Chunks Ahoy! and some varieties of
Chips Ahoy could contain the ingredient, giving them the distinction of
being from the very few food items in supermarkets nowadays still made
with rendered pig fat. Therefore, we advise Muslim consumers to carefully
read the ingredients label when buying any of the Ahoy! cookies.
